This will be a glamorous evening of entertainment, with 8 local personalities being partnered with a trained ballroom dancer and being taught a ballroom-style dance by our professional ballroom-dance teacher, Emma Silke-French over a period of 8 weeks prior to the event.
They will then perform with their partner in front of a paying audience and a panel of judges in the Trafalgar Centre, in order to win the coveted title of Nelson’s first DANCING FOR A CAUSE winner!
This is a major fundraising event for Nelson Hospice run by the Inspiring Youth Theatre Charitable Trust. This concept has been used throughout the world as a successful fundraiser.
In New Zealand, we know of several organisations who have held such events, raising funds between $40,000-$150,000
